About Me ...
I have always been a visual person, but unlike many young individuals of my time, I did not pursue those distant dreams –– they pursued me until I gave in. And I'm proud I did! I started photographing since the days of film and finally transitioned into the digital realm in 2005. It was quite a sweeping change, and having worked with many professionals and everyday clients, they are always content to see their photos as soon as that camera shutter is snapped!
Over the years, I have come to specialize in professional portraiture (headshots, corporate, weddings), commercial work, landscape, professional re-touching, creative compositing, and most recently in the awesomeness of travel photography. My approach in achieving the majority of my work is utilizing natural lighting. I prefer this path over using too much lighting gear which can be imposing and cumbersome at times. I feel naturally-lit photography is best when working with people.
I commonly photograph with my trusty Canon 5D Mark II and selective group of lenses including a Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8, Canon 28mm f/1.4, Canon 50mm f/1.4, and with the imaginative collection of Lensbaby lenses for unique results. Instead of relying on a darkroom ladened with chemicals, I perform my work in my "digital darkroom" utilizing Photoshop, Lightroom, and Perfect Effects.
When I am not holding a camera, I can be found at the gym dedicating myself to staying physically fit (while eating clean and right) and enjoying an outing to the movies while concocting another photographic venture.
Originally born, raised and educated in the San Francisco/Bay Area region of California, I now reside in New Zealand.
Thank you for stopping by and I most certainly hope you enjoy my photographic work. I look forward to hopefully working with you soon.
